The Wasit Nature Reserve, Sharjah-Ajman Border
His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah designated this 4.5-kilometer stretch of land as a protected area in 2007. It is situated on the boundary between Sharjah and Ajman. Previously used as a landfill, it has been beautifully restored into a wildlife reserve where birds from all over the world congregate.
